Who is Enrique? Other than one of my favorite people in Cabo San Lucas,
Enrique is not only one of the top dog trainers in Mexico, and the go to guy when the local dog rescues need help socializing rescues so they can be adopted he is the "Caretaker" of Mt Solmar in Cabo San Lucas.
Enrique who has always lived on at the base of the Mountain, actually in an old service station converted into a home protecting the mountain from trespassers for the owners. In 2022, he asked the owners if he could start “guided tours” daily for tips and increase revenue for both of them to help maintain and protect the mountain, Mt Solmar. So Ascenso al Cerro Del Vigia was born.
Enrique conducts Morning Tours Sunday - Friday. You must be in front of his home by 8:15am. His home is at the base of Mt Solmar, located behind the Navel Base in the Marina which is right before the road that goes around the Marina Dead Ends. When the time, or occasion is right, like the start of the Bisbee or Christmas, he also does Sunrise and Sunset Tours. We have even booked Enrique for a private hike up Mt Solmar, which believe me to be the only one on top when the Sun Rises...... Is Priceless!
Working for Tips Only, Enrique gifts hikers with the history of Mt Solmar dating back to the 1500’s, the people who lived there and about the Energy of the Mountain, and the Vortex. In the "Energy World", Mt Solmar is considered a stronger Vortex than even Sedona . It is said that at certain points on the Mountain that the energy is Zero “0” because of the Waves crashing onto it from both sides. You will experience this when hiking, with Enrique no matter how out of breath you are, almost the instant you stop for a break, your breathing is no longer labored.
If your travels ever take you to Cabo San Lucas and you are physically able, make sure to join Enrique for one of his morning hikes up Mt Solmar, you won't, I promise be disappointed.
