Mt Solmar, Cabo San Lucas

Updated: May 3, 2023

For as long as I can remember no one was allowed on the Mountain.

Early in 2021, the care taker Enrique who has always lived on at the base of the Mountain, actually in an old service station converted into a home, asked the owners if he could start “guided tours” daily for tips and increase revenue for both of them.

Hence, Ascenso al Cerro Del Vigia was born.

Morning Tours – You must be in front of his home by 8:15 Sunday -Friday which

is behind the Navel Base in the Marina which is right before the road that goes around the Marina Dead Ends.

- Know that he is now doing some Sunrise and Sunset Tours

- He works for Tips Only, sure that most people give him $5-$10 per person, I give him

$20 on regular tours and $100+ for a private Sunrise Tour.

During the Tour Enrique explains the History of Mt Solmar dating back to the 1500’s, the people who lived there and about the Energy of the Mountain, and the Vortex.

Mt Solmar is also known as Lands End. Most “Gringos” believe that is because it is at the end of the Baja but actually it is because the next land to the East is Mazatlán, to the West is Hawaii, and to the South is Antarctica.

It is said that at certain points on the Mountain that the energy is Zero “0” because of the Waves crashing onto it from both sides. You experience this when hiking, no matter how out of breath you are, almost the instant you stop for a break, your breathing is no

longer labored.

There is soooo much more to tell, but if I told you, you might not go! So make sure on your next trip to Cabo San Lucas that you plan to spend an morning with Enrique and Mt Solmar.
